Facts about Yoga Gear

 

  • Yoga Mats -  One of the most important props is the yoga mat, especially for beginners.  One side of the mat will stick to a hard floor keeping you stabalized during your poses.  It is important to treat your yoga mat with care and choose a mat that will fit you.  Standard mats are 1/8" thick, 24" wide, and 68" long.  However, there are wider and thicker mats for all sizes and comfort levels.   
     
  • Yoga Mat Bags -  Place your yoga mat in a yoga mat bag to tote your yoga mat and accessories easily to your workout or during your travels.  Prolong the life of your personal yoga mat by taking good care of it and storing it in a yoga mat bag.  Most yoga mat bags are for the standard size yoga mat (24" thick, 68" long, and either 1/8" or 1/4" wide).  Most yoga mat bags come with shoulder straps and are made with durable cotton or nylon.  And for accessories, the convenience of an inner and outer zipper pocket makes all the difference!     
     
  • Yoga Bolsters -  Yoga Bolsters provide the perfect support for many yoga postures.  Yoga bolsters come with handles on both ends and the standard yoga bolsters are 28" long and 10" in diameter.  However, many yogis have been interested in a smaller bolster ideal for smaller practitioners, those needing less support, or children.  Thus the junior round yoga bolster came about.  All yoga bolsters come with a removable cover for easy washing, are 100 percent cotton, and provide perfect support for many of the yoga positions.  It also adds comfort and at the same time relieves tension in the back, neck, and legs during more challenging poses.
     
  • Yoga Blankets - It is encouraged to feel as comfortable as possible when practicing yoga.  Use this yoga blanket for comfort, warmth, extra padding, or for extra support for certain yoga positions.  Most yoga blankets average about 80" long and 50" wide, but we also carry extra large yoga blankets that measures 100" long and 60" wide.  These yoga blankets are machine washable and many are made from chemical-free cotton.     
     
  • Yoga Straps - Yoga Straps can be made out of cotton or nylon.  These yoga belts are useful for yogis of all levels.  Yoga straps are used to provide that additional length enabling you to grasp limbs that are otherwise out of reach.  Yoga belts are normally 1.5" wide and prevent constricted circulation.  Most yoga straps are 6 feet in length and should be ideal for most practicing yoga.   Hold a certain pose a little bit longer and you will benefit!    
     
  • Yoga Balls - The Yoga Ball will assist in hip openers, restorative poses, and backbends.  Made to withstand at least 600 lbs. of pressure and built tough with extra thick anti-burst material, yoga balls are durable and simple to deflate and inflate.  Also each yoga ball is accompanied with a free pump.  Improve your strength, endurance, flexibility, and core stability with yoga balls.  Yoga balls help rejuvinate muscles and increase blood circulation to the disks around your spine.
